While the vast majority of data we utilize today is from the third parties mentioned above, Pretarget is testing first party data collection with a limited number of publishers where opt-outs are clearly provided and following applies:

Pretarget receives information from our various data contributors (the Providers) through the use of a unique HTML code snippet installed on the Providers webpage. When viewing or visiting the networks, sites, webpages, or advertisements of our Providers you consent to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure and other uses of your Collected Information as described in this Privacy Policy, unless you exercise your right to opt-out as described herein. Alternatively, some Providers may elect to use the opt-in method for collecting data, in which case your data will not be collected unless you click on the opt-in button on Providers webpage. If you opt-in to the collection of your information on one Providers webpage you will automatically be opted-in to the collection of your information on all the sites that you visit within Pretargets Provider network. Information Collection and Use

Collected Information: Pretarget collects only nonpersonally identifiable information from individual users who view or visit the networks, sites, webpages or advertisements of our Providers where Pretargets code is installed. The information is collected only when you enter a domain in your browser window, enter a search query or click on a content link that directs you to a different page. The information collected relates to your browser, your computer, your IP address and your online page visits and search behavior, including your search queries and the referring domains from websites you have visited (the Collected Information). Pretarget does not knowingly or intentionally collect private, personal, or financial information. Pretarget uses an HTML tag, which loads third party tags remotely, calling tags from third parties who desire access to your Collected Information for targeting and personalization. These remote third party tags will set the buyers own proprietary browser cookie on the user in real time. While Pretargets tag collects Log Data (as defined below), Pretarget only transfers select data to buyers as described below. Pretarget assigns each unique user an identification number for anonymous identification purposes. You have access to view all the Collected Information associated with your anonymous ID collected by Pretarget about you at http://www.PersonalPreferences.org.You may not view or access anyone else’s Collected Information. The collection of your data is also governed by the privacy policies of our Providers.

Pretarget charges third parties a fee to access and use your search queries and the referring domains from sites you have visited online. This search keyword data is collected and aggregated anonymously and exchanged with data buyers in real time through the Pretarget tag and browser cookie system. Unique users are only identified to Pretargets data buyers by the identification number assigned by Pretarget. Such third parties may use your search keyword data to target advertisements or personalize content to you related to your viewing and searching activities on the web. Third party use of your data is also governed by that third party’s own privacy policy.

Right to Opt-Out: You have the right to opt out of Pretargets collection and use of your information as described herein. You can opt out by visiting http://www.PersonalPreferences.org and changing your preferences or by opting out through the button installed on the Providers website or in the Providers privacy policy. Once you exercise your right to opt out Pretarget will install a patent pending persistent cookie which enforces your preference to not have your data collected and used by Pretarget and third parties throughout Pretargets Provider network. Your information will no longer be collected by Pretarget and you will no longer receive customized advertising from Pretargets data buyers. However, the persistent cookie will remain on your hard drive in order to maintain your opt-out preference. In the event you reinstall your computer, you will need to again exercise your right to opt-out if you still desire to be opted out from the collection of your data in Pretargets Provider network.

Additional Information: If you email us, we may keep your message, email address and contact information to respond to your request. Providing the additional information described in this section is entirely optional. Information, including personally identifiable information about you that we collect from emails we receive will not be sold to third parties.

Log Data may include information such as your IP address, browser type, the HTTP referrer or referring domain, pages visited, and search terms. Other actions, such as interactions with advertisements, may also be included in Log Data.

Cookies: A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer’s hard disk. Pretargets data collection and transfer technique described above uses a combination of browser and Flash cookies also known as Flash objects which are installed through your computer. The cookies set by Pretarget use a patent-pending method to ensure that your opt-in or opt-out preference from the data collection and data usage in our system is maintained across your local browser cookies and Flash cookie; should you delete one set of cookies, your opt-in or opt-out preference from the other will automatically be restored the next time you are exposed to Pretarget code. Our data buyers also use cookie technology to associate your website usage data with your anonymous ID, to target specific advertisements or information to you and to improve their services. Pretarget provides the code to call our buyers code which sets the cookie on the user in real time. Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. You can instruct your browser, by editing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit.
